About me

I’ve supported dozens of novelists and travel writers in my career, from nervous self-publishers to professional authors with secure publishing deals.
I’ve worked on historical romances and spy thrillers, expat memoirs and pilgrimage diaries, experimental fiction and commercial chart-toppers.
And now I’d like to work with you.

Honest, constructive feedback
Perhaps your novel sags in the middle, fizzles out at the end, has too many characters or too little dialogue.
Maybe you’re a really good storyteller but not so hot on punctuation and syntax.
As an editor, my job is to give honest, constructive feedback on your manuscript.
I do that with empathy and discretion. I take the time to listen to you and understand what your book needs so that I can guide you to the next stage.
Trained and qualified
As an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), I’m committed to maintaining the highest editorial standards and keeping up to date with new developments in publishing.
I’ve earned editorial qualifications from the CIEP and the Publishing Training Centre, and I have a degree in English Literature and the Dramatic Arts. I’m a contributing author on the CIEP’s online Introduction to Fiction Editing course.
I’m also a Partner Member of the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), the advocacy organisation for self-publishers.
